Work can be fun. It's all in the attitude. You can take almost any job in the world and find some fun in it.
I have a pretty awesome job. I unload trucks for what is probably the biggest chain in the world, Wal*Mart. The duties that the unloader team currently takes on include unloading the truck, taking freight out to the floor, and if time, stocking some of the departments. With this job, we do several things that help our bodies.
For example, who needs a gym? We get anything from small boxes with only a few light bulbs in them to 100lb boxes of furniture. Many of the boxes are at least several pounds. Whoever is in the truck has to lift them onto the line. Whoever is on the line has to stack them onto pallets. Therefore, the weight lifting is taken care of.
Once the pallets are all stacked, we pull them out to the floor. Depending on what is on the pallet, some are heavy and some are not. For instance, a pallet of clothing is not heavy, compared to a pallet of motor oil, or pet food. Some of those pallets can really work your muscles.
This job also works the brain. While unloading the truck, pallets have to be stacked in a certain way. It's kind of like tetris. The boxes have to be placed in a way that they fit together and hold each other in place, so boxes don't fall off as the pallet is being transported to the correct department. In addition, care has to be taken so that boxes don't get crushed.
It can be a challenge sometimes, but I look at it all as a game, and to me, it's fun.
I don't get to do just this though. I have opportunities do help out with other duities as well.
I get to cut keys, and mix paint for customers. On occasion I have been asked to work the register.
I think the thing I like the most about my job is that I never know exactly what the day will bring. I enjoy somewhat the adventure of finding out what each day is going to bring.

1st 2010 Vacation Part II
Things have been very busy in the last month and a half. The rest of our vacation was really pleasant. Vannesa and I took Melody and Spencer to the Olympic Game Farm, which is a drive through zoo. They both had fun with that. I also took Vannesa down to the Port Angeles Pier, and we had a good time just looking out at the water. We didn't get to see the cousins as we had planned. Several of the things we had wanted to do simply fell through, but we had a wonderful time anyway. We had a nice drive back down to Portland to catch our flight home. We saw a cool semi-truck with Mt. Rushmore painted on the side of it. We stopped in Vancouver and visited the Walnut Grove Ward to see people that I know from a long time ago. My family used to live in Vancouver and attend that ward. Our flight home was uneventful, and we reached Salt Lake safely. It was really nice to be able to take a weekend off just to enjoy ourselves, and it was good to see my family again.
